KickStart
     previously ApproTEC

ApproTEC is now called KickStart!

In 1991 we founded ApproTEC to help millions of people escape from poverty, and to kick-start sustainable economic growth in developing countries. Since then, over 50,000 poor families in East Africa have used our simple money-making tools and their entrepreneurial spirit, to “kick-start” profitable new businesses, their family wealth and local economic growth

Today we are embarking on an ambitious new expansion plan. With your help we will expand our work into 6 new countries in Africa over the next 3 years, and enable more than 400,000 men, women and children to escape poverty and dramatically improve their lives and their futures. We will do this by continuing to develop and promote new tools and new business models that work together to end poverty. As we begin this next chapter we feel that it is time for a new name that better reflects our mission, our impacts and the promise that the future holds.

We believe that KickStart is not only a name that much better explains what we do – kick-starting businesses, lives and economies – but that it is also a name (unlike ApproTEC) that our supporters and friends will remember, and will remember how to spell.

I want to personally thank you for visiting our website, and I invite you to learn all about KickStart’s programs and impacts in Africa and beyond.

Best wishes
Martin Fisher
Co-Founder and Executive Director – KickStart
